Transfix and E3 Group Partner to Stop Freight Fraud at the Door

Transfix, Inc. today announced a partnership with E3 Group that embeds E3’s driver authentication and fraud prevention software directly into the Transfix Transportation Management System (TMS). Brokers running Transfix can authenticate driver identity before the pickup number is released, leveraging every risk factor E3 scores rather than the limited subset supported by legacy freight brokerage software platforms.

The integration is live in the Transfix TMS today, and Direct Traffic Solutions (DTS) is among the first brokers running on it.

“Brokers have been asked to bolt fraud prevention onto systems that were never built to receive it. E3 scores 12 to 14 risk factors on every driver, and a legacy TMS throws most of them away. We built the Transfix TMS to carry the whole set into the workflow, so the check happens at dispatch and not in a report someone reads a week later.” — Jonathan Salama, Co-founder & CEO, Transfix

The Customer Win

DTS turned on E3 inside Transfix TMS with no separate integration project, no second vendor login, and no change to how its reps book freight. Driver authentication runs where the load already lives, and the record of every check stays attached to it.

“Our customers trust us to protect their freight, and that means giving our teams the best information possible without adding complexity to their day. The integration between E3 and the Transfix TMS brings those risk insights directly into the workflow our team already uses, so it feels like one connected system rather than another tool they have to manage. It’s a meaningful step forward in helping us make informed decisions while keeping the experience seamless for both our team and our customers.” — Frank Discenza, CEO, Direct Traffic Solutions

Why the Integration Matters

E3 scores 12 to 14 distinct risk factors per driver, but antiquated brokerage management systems rarely carry all of them. Older platforms pass only a basic pass/fail flag, dropping unmapped data fields and leaving critical details isolated in a separate portal that reps must manually inspect. When load volume spikes, manual verification steps are frequently skipped.

Transfix passes every risk signal directly to the dispatch workflow. Brokers evaluate real-time driver risk scoring within a single screen, eliminating manual re-keying and fragmented software logins.

That is the difference between owning a fraud tool and actually running one.

What Brokers Get, Live in the Transfix TMS Today

Cargo theft losses reached an estimated $7 billion in the US in 2025, a record driven by criminal networks that target the handoff rather than the truck. E3 closes that gap before the freight moves.

  • Biometric driver authentication. A patent-pending check on the driver’s CDL, truck, and phone number, finished before dispatch.

  • Vision-based document review. E3’s models cross-check CDL, ID, truck condition, and MC number across multiple images, catching paper taped over a truck’s identifiers that standard OCR misses.

  • Real-time risk score. Analyzes 60 signals per driver, keeping pickup numbers locked until authentication is complete.

  • Auditable data trail. Every check, image, and score is stored against the load, so shippers, insurers, and auditors get a defensible record on request.

  • One platform, no bolt-on. Fraud prevention sits alongside automated freight pricing, load dispatch, and freight planning in a unified cloud TMS for freight brokers.

  • Every load, every time. Authentication runs on all freight, and not just high-value lanes.

The integration detects doctored CDLs, hacked email load interception, carrier spoofing, VPN masking, magnetic DOT numbers, unauthorized non-domiciled CDLs, and “chameleon carriers” that re-register to conceal unsafe records. E3 updates detection rules weekly as tactical threats evolve.

To date, E3 has reviewed drivers on more than 650,000 loads, and clients using it have recorded zero fraud incidents.

“E3’s leading driver authentication platform enables brokers to surface 50+ risk indicators in under 2 minutes. Handling this data requires complex workflows which Transfix’s platform automates, making driver authentication simpler and more efficient for mid-market and enterprise brokers to know who’s behind the wheel before any freight is moved, and have a fully auditable record to back them up – protecting them, and keeping their clients’ freight safe.”

A Shared Data Privacy Promise

Both companies hold the same line: a broker’s data stays the broker’s. Transfix does not resell, pool, or trade customer freight data, and does not compete with its customers for freight. E3 applies the same standard to the driver data it authenticates.

For freight brokerages evaluating carrier vetting tools, data integrity is paramount. Proprietary lane history, contract rates, and carrier relationships remain fully protected customer assets.
